The Body Shop Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil Review

As I was telling you all, monsoons are not a great news for me, especially for my hair. Add to that, the torture of heat styling and all that slack my hair gets from time to time, resulting in dry, straw like hair something. The Body Shop Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil came as the knight in shining armour to rescue my hair. Read on to know whether it was able to save my hair.

MY EXPERIENCE:  The Body Shop Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil comes in a transparent, flip top cap bottle. The oil looks like some golden liquid in the bottle but is actually colorless. The oil is medium thick in texture and gets absorbed in hair very well, without leaving any chip-chip feeling. It has got a sweet, pleasant cocoa-butter like fragrance which I love thoroughly.

 

Coming to the results. After using it for more than three weeks, and applying it atleast twice/thrice a week, I saw my hair and scalp looks more nourished and healthy, and the straw like phase is gone. It repaired my hair quite a bit. It has controlled my hairfall problem to quite an extent, though not stopped completely but it is comparatively less, and I hope with continuous usage it would show more effective results. As for my frizz problem, I wish it worked better on this front (I am still waiting for that magic potion!). And also the price seems a bit exorbitant, but then the 200 ml bottle would last forever many months and so it doesn't pinch that much. 

 

WHAT I LIKED:

• Medium consistency that gets absorbed easily.
• Doesn't leave any chip-chip/heavy-oily feeling.
• Washes off easily without leaving any residue.
• Nourishes hair and scalp and repaired my dry hair to great extent.
• Reduced hairfall to some extent, though not stopped completely.
• Loved the subtle sweet fragrance.   
• Paraben and silicone free. 

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• Price is quite high for an oil, but then it's TBS for you. However, one bottle would last ages.
• Wish it worked better on taming the frizziness. 

VERDICT: No doubt it's a wonderful hair oil and I would surely recommend it to you guys. Albeit a little pricey, but it's worth it. Let me know if you have tried this.

Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lipgloss - Shade Glisten up Pink Review

Hey everyone! I am back with a review on Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lipgloss in shade Glisten up Pink. I know these glosses are making rounds in the blogosphere and I just want to add my two cents. So hear me out! :)

WHAT IT CLAIMS:

• Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar
• Now gloss goes gutsy in 8 arresting shades

SWATCH:

MY EXPERIENCE: Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lipgloss comes in a regular rectangular tube with mirror-finish screw cap and doe foot applicator. The shade Glisten up Pink is a baby pink color with a frosty finish. It is a pretty color indeed when it tones down a little but I would have preferred it minus the silver shimmers that make it look so frosty on my skintone. But hey, it says to give "high shine" on lips and so it delivers. ;)

Like other Maybelline glosses, it is quite creamy but not as moisturising (probably because of the overdoze of shimmers, that also feels a little gritty initially). It is not that opaque and my lip lines gets more pronounced. It stays on an average of 2-3 hours with a little snacking but it doesn't survive a meal (does any lipcolor do? I wonder who won't wipe their lips after lunch/dinner...eeks! :P). Maybelline also hiked their price with this new range which is not fair..boohoo!

WHAT I LIKED:

• Creamy gloss that glides easily on lips.
• Lightweight and non-sticky.
• On an average stays for 2-3 hours, and more if you don't snack in between.
• Gives high shine as the name suggests.  
• The shade is pretty itself but not exactly for my skintone.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• The silver shimmers gives a frostiness that doesn't suit me and also feels a bit gritty on lips.
• This particular shade doesn't give opaque coverage to my lips.
• Prices hiked by Maybelline.

VERDICT: If you want a shade that would add shine to your lipcolor then you might try the Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lipgloss in shade Glisten up Pink. It looks good with a brownish or similar base color. But this shade is not suitable for all skintones, when worn on its own. Let me know whether you tried this!

Nivea Creme Soft Shower Cream Review

And so monsoon has arrived in this part of the world. To me, Monsoon=Season of rainfall hairfall, skin problems and what not. Ok, let's keep my beauty woes aside for a while, and get on with today's review on Nivea Creme Soft Shower Cream, that I have meaning to post for a long time.

INGREDIENTS:

WHAT IT CLAIMS: This silky shower cream, enriched with almond oil, envelops you in a caring, soft foam leaving your skin smooth and moisturised. Relax and rejuvenate with every shower. 

MY EXPERIENCE: Nivea Creme Soft Shower Cream is one of the older variants that came out with the HydraIQ technology. I have reviewed one of the new variants from this range here. The Nivea Creme Soft Shower Cream comes in a simple flip top cap packaging. The texture is milky and runny. It lathers up pretty well even with a little quantity. It has got a nice, yet subtle perfume-ish fragrance which I quite like, however that doesn't last post bath.  

Good thing is, it doesn't dry out my skin except for a little tightening. And unlike the Powerfruit Relax one, it doesn't leave any slippery feeling when washed off. At this price, it's one of the nicest shower gels I have tried and you get a free loofah with this too. So summing it up,   

WHAT I LIKED:

• Runny consistency that spreads and lathers easily.
•  Pleasant and subtle perfume-ish fragrance.
• Cleanses skin gently without drying it out.
• Simple and effective packaging.
• Economical and easily available. 
• Comes with a free loofah.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• Finishes up fast.
  

VERDICT: A nice shower cream that doesn't dry out skin (HydraIQ technology :P) and perfect for you, if you have dry skin like me. I have tried another variant from this range after this one, which is the Nivea Pearl and Beauty Shower Cream, which I am not going to review as that is exactly like this one and works equally well, only smells a little different. You can give a try to either of these two.

The Sculpting Ritual

Stroke 1: Sculpt your neck

Using upward strokes massage the left side of your neck with your right hand. Move from above your collar bone towards your chin. Switch hands and massage the right side of the neck. Repeat twice.

Stroke 2: Sculpt your jaw

With long upward strokes, massage the sides of your face with your index and middle finger. Start at the chin moving up to the ears. Press firmly for a moment at the top. Repeat twice.

Stroke 3: Sculpt your smile

Using your index and middle fingers, work across your smile lines. Slowly travel up towards the nose following the same stroke. Repeat twice.

Stroke 4: Sculpt your cheeks

ALWAYS in upward strokes, using your fingers, gently massage from the sides of the chin to the top of the cheekbone, across the cheek. Release. Repeat twice.

Stroke 5: Sculpt your brows

With two fingers, hold up both brows to open up the eye area. Rub in a circle around the eye socket out to the temples. Repeat 3-4 times.
